Congratulations are in order for Magnus, our upcoming School Captain! He has aced his Higher exams with flying colours, receiving A’s in Chemistry, Human Biology, Physics, Mathematics and English.
“I am very happy with my results – I definitely feel like my hard work has paid off,” said Magnus who joined Albyn in P4 and is looking forward to becoming the School Captain in the coming weeks.
“I am proud and I am glad that my dedication and commitment have shown and I am excited to take on the role,” he said.
Magnus, who joined Albyn School CCF (RAF) Section in August 2019, has also recently been appointed to the prestigious role of Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet for the city of Aberdeen. The Lord-Lieutenant is the King’s official representative and the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet is an aide and representative of the cadet forces to the British royal family and the Lord-Lieutenant.
His year-long appointment began on Armed Forces Day (24 June 2023).
Magnus has also participated in and won several regional and national rowing competition and he has also represented Albyn School and country at Laser Run events.
The talented pupil would like to study either mechanical or aeronautical engineering at university.
To learn more about the industry, he has signed up for TechFest’s STEM in the Pipeline which is designed for teams of pupils to compete in a realistic project set within the energy industry. Each part of the process allows participants to advance their knowledge of STEM subjects. Teams will receive help from an industry professional, acting as a mentor, who can provide advice and support.
