Albyn Pre-School Charity Ceilidh

On Friday 24th March the Pre-School held a charity ceilidh in the Centenary Hall for parents to come along and watch the children perform ceilidh dancing which Mrs Kelman from the PE Department had been teaching them this term.

They also sang several Scottish songs such as Flower of Scotland, Auld Lang Syne and The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen, which they had learned from Ms Addison during their music lessons. The atmosphere was so magical that the parents couldn’t help but join in the fun as you can see from the video below!

After the ceilidh everyone was piped back to the nursery by a Grandparent of one of the children who also taught everyone a little more about how bagpipes work. Everyone enjoyed cakes and sandwiches and were able to buy gifts from the ‘pop-up’ charity shop where the children sold brooches, recipe books, raffle tickets along with guessing the birthday for ‘Morag McCow’.

The charity ceilidh raised an fantastic £625! This money will be donated to The Brain Tumour Charity, a cause which we hold dear to us here at Albyn School.
