Albyn School Parents Association (ASPA)
Every parent or guardian of a child in the school is a member of ASPA. You do not have to be on the committee itself. ASPA is how you can get involved with helping the School and is a great way of meeting other Albyn parents and guardians.
Get involved – make new friends:
Each class has a representative (or sometimes in the Upper School there are year reps). These people are the channel of information both ways between the parents / guardians and the School. The representatives do need assistance at times during the year to ensure social events run smoothly. Please do get involved, even a couple of hours help is invaluable. It is a great way to meet new people and ASPA reps are always happy to help with any information you might need when joining a new school or city. Then in the future, especially if you have more than one child at the School, please consider becoming a committee member by being a class representative. It is fixed term membership so you won’t get sucked in for good and you will make a whole new set of friends! We have willing members but we feel it is healthy to have new fresh ideas.
What does ASPA actually do?
ASPA is the communication channel between parents/guardians and the School for matters that affect more than an individual family.
ASPA also arranges social events and fundraisers for the School to provide additional resources for the School. Regular social events include a Fireworks party at the playing fields (early November) and a Christmas Fair (craft and games stalls). Most of these have a component of fundraising for your school and in recent years ASPA has been able to donate significant funds to the School for a major library upgrade, a minibus, music, sports and playground equipment together with a number of smart boards and other equipment for the classrooms.
Contact us so we can contact you!
Albyn School does eventually provide contact lists but these do take time to compile at a busy time of year. We cannot contact you and welcome you, give you class details or news of upcoming events unless you give us your contact details. It would help ASPA to help you if you could let your Rep or the Secretary know your details as quickly as possible. Contact ASPA via email@example.com for more information.
We look forward to helping you get the most out of your ASPA membership.
