Albyn School offers a means-tested Fees Assistance (bursary) scheme for entry to any year of the Lower or Upper School to enable talented pupils who otherwise could not afford the fees to attend the School.
Candidates will be required to sit an entrance test. The applicant’s parents or guardians will be asked to complete a Fees Assistance application form in addition to the normal application form for entry, in which they will be asked for detailed information as to their financial circumstances. This is to enable us to reach a fair decision with regard to the level of support needed. The information supplied will be treated in the strictest confidence.
The value of the fees assistance fund is determined by the Board of Governors. All applications are means tested and successful applicants are confirmed by the school along with offer letters in March. The level of fees assistance varies from 10% of the fees to, in certain circumstances 100% of the fees.
Fees Assistance awards will be tenable throughout the pupil’s time at the School, subject to terms and conditions. However, they are reassessed on an annual basis as circumstances do change and it is important to ensure fairness for all.
Fees assistance applications are now closed for academic year 2018-2019. Applications for academic year 2019-2020 will be available from December 2018.
