Business Education

At the present time it is not until U3 that pupils have the opportunity to study in the Business Education Department although some may have visited the Department and used the excellent facilities during IT or other subject classes.

The subjects offered within the department are Business Management and Accounting. Business Management is offered at Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher. Accounting is offered at Higher Grade only in either U5 or U6.

These courses are really useful irrespective of whatever career or further education course you decide to follow. All university and college courses contain an element of business and finance and it is very useful to be knowledgeable on how businesses affect and influence our lives and the economy.

Business Management covers a wide range of topics relating to all aspects of business. By studying this subject, you will learn how businesses from the smallest sole trader to the largest multi-national organise themselves and affect the world we live in.

By studying Accounting you will be able to equip yourself with the skills needed to organise your own finances as well as those of a business and make you more aware of the importance of financial information.
