Pupils in Upper I – VI attend classes in Personal and Social Education taught by staff in the Guidance department.

The programme incorporates five contexts for learning – curricular and careers guidance, health and safety, personal development, relationships and social awareness.

Personal and Social Education is:

The learning atmosphere includes activities for developing knowledge, skills and experiences to help the individual; and relationships with others and society. A variety of activities are used in the classroom.

These include individual and group work, role play, problem solving, teacher centred learning and discussion. Pupils are encouraged to participate actively in class and their opinions and observations are always welcomed.
