Rowing

Rowing is an exciting new major sport at Albyn. From Upper I onwards all boys will learn to row on the lower reaches of the River Dee under the expertise of the experienced coaches at Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association (ASRA) boat club.

Rowing will be an all round sport for the boys. The main emphasis of the sport in the autumn and spring terms will be improving and working on their physical fitness as well as improving their technique and working together as a team in preparation for the summer term where the boys will compete in the Aberdeen inter-schools rowing regatta and other races according to their ability.

All boys who wish to be considered for selection for Albyn’s rowing squad must be committed to training all year round. They must attend weekly extra-curricular sessions after school and make themselves available for competitions in the summer term.
