Extra-Curricular Activities

Education at Albyn also focuses on the ‘soft skills’ necessary for a full, rewarding and successful involvement in life and work after school:

This ethos underpins all of the extra-curricular activities offered throughout the School.

As well as all the class taught subjects, the pupils have a variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs to choose from.

This year we have hockey, netball, karate, badminton and swimming clubs in sport. There is also a craft club, art club and chess club on offer. Music clubs include: choir, recorder ensemble and elementary, intermediate and advanced orchestras. There is also a Spanish club and Lower 7′s can join the science club and classics club. Dancing and Speech and Drama are also offered after school.

As well as all the usual concerts for Christmas, Spring and Summer, during past years the pupils have had major productions – “Ralph the Reindeer” a feast of song and colourful costumes presented by Lower 1 and 2. We also presented ‘Alice, the Musical’ two years ago, and most recently ‘Aladdin Junior’, in which each pupil from Lower 3 to Lower 7 participated in a most spectacular show.

If anyone wishes lessons in just about any instrument we will be very happy to organise tuition in school.
