Founded as a school for girls in 1867 we are currently halfway through a process of becoming fully co-educational. Our Nurseries are already mixed and our primary school (we call this the Lower School) is now fully co-educational. Boys will be admitted to S1 in August 2008 and from then on the process of co-education will continue one year at a time through our secondary school (or Upper School) until the School is completely co-educational in August 2013.
Ever since its inception in 1867 Albyn has been one of the top performing schools in Scotland, with a tradition of excellent exam results. This success is founded on small classes, the quality of the staff and the challenging community atmosphere that we like to think is second to none. A spirit of enterprise and intellectual ambition are nurtured and enhanced within a highly personal and caring environment.
But that’s enough propaganda! Come and visit the School to see for yourself!
