Former Pupils

The Albyn School Former Pupils’ Club (Established 1906) was established to promote a very active link with the school.

The FP Club President is a member of the Board of Governors.

The inaugural meeting of the club was an At Home held on the 23 March 1906 with Mr Mackie, Head of School, as Honorary President. The evening consisted of music, dancing and refreshments, with catering provided at 9d per person which included tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes for 140 members present.

Since those early days the FP Club has been led by equally enthusiastic members who encourage links with the school and our neighbouring schools and invite senior pupils to join the club in their leaving year.

Various social events are enjoyed throughout the year and the committee still caters for a well-attended At Home which takes place after the AGM in March. Profit from events is then spent on buying the school some form of equipment.

An annual newsletter is distributed world-wide in September to every life member on the files who has kept the club up to date with their address.

Over the decades faces have changed but the ethos of the FP Club remains the same. Links are strong and a bond between Albyn FPs is hard to sever. Perhaps it is the school motto “Vigor et Juventas” that continues to keep the Club enthusiastic and youthful.
