End of Term Arrangements – June 2009

As the academic year draws towards its close, I am writing to outline the changes to the usual School routines that take place in the last week of term. As the Upper School Closing Ceremony takes place at the Beach Ballroom, this means that some arrangements slightly differ from previous years.

Monday 22 June 2009:
The Upper School will be dismissed at 3.15 pm with the exception of the Upper VI girls.

Wednesday 24 June 2009:
The Upper School will have timetabled classes until 12.45 pm. They will then be dismissed for the rest of the day.

Thursday 25 June 2009:
Upper School pupils must arrive at the Beach Ballroom (not the School) for 9.00 am to attend the final rehearsal of the Closing Ceremony. Parking will be available beside the Beach Ballroom and in the overflow car parks nearby. As in previous years, pupils will then be dismissed after the rehearsal. If you usually collect your son or daughter, please arrange to meet them at the Beach Ballroom at 10.30 am.

The Closing Ceremony begins at 2.00 pm so all pupils, except the Upper VI, must be seated in the Beach Ballroom by 1.40 pm at the latest. Dress for the occasion is white shirt, tie and kilt or trousers for the boys. Blazers should be deposited in the cloakrooms. Upper VI pupils will assemble in the Northern Lights room of the Beach Ballroom complex at 1.40 pm.

Term ends immediately after the Ceremony at around 4.00 pm.

I look forward to welcoming you at this final event of the School year.

With best wishes,

Yours sincerely,

Dr Long
