Refurbishment Of Upper School Library

Libraries seek to provide a trusted source of materials that open minds, solve problems and enrich lives. In redesigning our library at Albyn we seek to provide both physical and digital access to a wealth of information and inspire readers to learn more about the world in which they will live, work and study.

With the support of the Albyn School Parents’ Association the Upper School library will undergo major refurbishment summer 2010. Offering comfortable areas for pupils to sit and read with new and flexible shelving for an enlarged book collection the aim is to improve the environment, encourage reading and provide additional computer terminals with access to the vast array of digital information now available.

…and a New Lower School Library

Future building plans involve converting one of the larger rooms in the Queen’s Road buildings into a new library and resource centre for the Lower School. By gathering together the library resources of the Lower School into an area designed to inspire younger pupils into the joy of reading.

Knowing I lov’d my books, he furnish’d me
From mine own library with volumes that
I prize above my dukedom.
