Albyn Pupils Set to Perform at Aberdeen International Youth Festival

Aberdeen International Youth Festival is an annual event which sees young people aged up to 25 years old travel from all over the world to perform in a wide range of arts including dance, theatre, and opera, and a variety of musical genres such as contemporary, jazz, classical and traditional. This year we are proud to have 3 very talented Albyn pupils take part in the festival.

This Saturday Stephanie W (U4G) will be performing in the ‘Up Close & Musical: Performers from Aberdeen and North East Music’ event following her success at the Aberdeen and North East of Scotland Music Festival held at Albyn School last month, during which she won in 4 different vocal categories. The concert takes place at 11am at Mannofield Church and tickets cost £6.60 (see link below to purchase tickets).

On the 25th, 26th and 27th of July Alexa S (U4D) and Scott S (U2D) are performing in RMSD William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors with lots of laughs guaranteed! The show starts at 7pm at Lemon Tree and tickets cost £6.60 (see link below to purchase tickets).

On Saturday 5th August Aaron M (U1F) and Hannah M (L5a) will be performing in the ‘Up Close & Musical: Students from North East of Scotland Music School (NESMS)event. With 10 minutes each to perform, Aaron will be on piano performing Valse Lente by Merikanto, Allegro assai (2nd movement from Sonata in G Op1 no 2) by Clementi,  Sommerabend by Grieg and Willie Wagglestick’s Walkabout by Bonsor, and Hannah will be on oboe playing Preludio and Allemanda (movts 1&2 from Concerto for oboe and strings) by Corelli, Red Hot Polka by Kershaw, Gabriel’s Oboe by Morricone and Tango for Two by Kershaw. The concert takes place at 11am at Queen’s Cross Church and tickets cost £6.60 (see link below to purchase tickets).
