Success at UKMT Senior Maths Challenge
Upper 5 boys from Albyn took part in the UKMT Senior Maths Chaellenge recently with great success. Matthew MacFarlane and Charlie Craig Wood both acheived Gold Awards. Matthew also gained the right to take part in the Maths Olympiad later this year. This is a great achievement for Matthew. Charlie is new to the competition and a Gold Award is a fantastic result for him.
The British Mathematical Olympiad is the follow on round for the Senior Challenge. Around 1000 invitations to the British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1 are sent to pupils who score highly in the Senior Challenge each November, and are qualified to represent the UK at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
