UNICEF Day For Change
All pupils in Albyn School took part in a “Come as You Please” day on the 11th February 2009 and raised £496.06 for children in Papua New Guinea. This donation will go towards bringing improved healthcare and well-being to children in Papua New Guinea.
36p would buy one exercise book.
£2 buys a watering can.
£92 buys health centre supplies.
£184 would buy a standing water tap.
In addition, Lower 7 pupils have designed posters to reflect the work of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The work Unicef have been doing supports Article 24: “The right to good quality health care, to clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment so that they will stay healthy. Rich countries should help poorer countries to achieve this”.
